Whats happening in the housing market?

Despite the Brexit referendum, there has been a gentle increase in house prices since May 2016. Albeit a gentle rise, this is still a very positive sign.

In Berkshire over the last year, the overall average house price has risen to £408,770, this was closely followed by Oxfordshire at £401,704 with Hampshire at £314,690 and Wiltshire at £270,489. The most expensive area within Berkshire was Crookham Dean at £1,231,250 with the cheapest being Thatcham at £308,685.

 

Overall sold prices in Berkshire over the last year were 6% up on the previous year and 22% up on the 2014 level of £334,520.

The majority of sales in Berkshire during the last year were terraced properties, selling for an average price of £347,374. Flats sold for an average of £259,572, with semi-detached properties fetching £406,626.
